THE HISTORY

A Brief Synopsis…

In the beginning, the world was without form and like raw clay was molded into the early stages of the world that we know as Annmar.  Legend has it that five powerful gods came and gave life to Annmar. They formed all the various species into existence and watched over them for thousands of years. Their influence pushed the world towards peace and prosperity. Each god brought its own unique influence such as wisdom, tranquility and love, destiny, magic, and even war and destruction to help bring balance to the world. These five Gods inhabited different parts of the world and helped to shape it in all that was good. However, the world was never without evil. It was always there, lurking in the shadows, pushing the inhabitants to do cruel and unspeakable things. It proved that the utopia the five gods had created was nothing more than a myth. For thousands of years, these five god’s worked in harmony to make the world perfect.

Finally, one of these gods rebelled against the other four. He sought total dominion over every species and inhabitant of the world. For his sole purpose was to be the one true god that ruled over everything. War raged among these five gods until only two were left in existence. The god of war and destruction and the god of tranquility and love. The war over the land was brutal. Many innocents would die from the power of the gods, also known as magic.  For it was magic that would become synonymous with evil. The god of tranquility and love would eventually be victorious, but the damage had been too great. Mankind along with other races such as elves, dwarves, halflings, and gnomes, which had been created alongside mankind to bring harmony to the world, rebelled against their creators. The power of the five gods was seen as too great for them to have and it was the cause of too many atrocities throughout the land.

Together, all races rose up and killed the last god. It was this cataclysmic event that reshaped the modern world. Land that had once been connected was now separated by massive oceans. Magic, which had once been prevalent in the world, disappeared. Different races that had once only been separated by short distances were pushed to the farthest reaches of the world. New homelands had to be found. Small kingdoms rose up and warred with one another. The center of existence, now became known as Annmar.  It was the last of the connected land where different races could live and somewhat coexist even through cautious suspicion. All knowledge of the world before lived only in myth and stories that were passed down from generation to generation. With no recorded history, mankind did not know what to believe anymore and thus began the first age. It was known as the Dark Age of Annmar.  Only the return of magic would bring Annmar out of the dark age. These are her recorded histories and legends.  They have become known as the Annmar Chronicles.

ABOUT THE THREE AGES OF ANNMAR

THE FIRST AGE: The Age of Magic

This is the first age after the fall of the last god.  It is considered the dark ages, at least for the first hundred years.  However, this is the age where magic comes back into the world.  Magic is considered to be the power of the gods and was lost to the world after the fall of the last god.  It will return through five chosen people among the various races in Annmar. Magic will reshape the world for the good of all the races, but there are those who see it as pure evil and will do anything to rid the world of magic or control it for themselves.  The First Age will see the rise and fall of magic leading to the great purge and the birth of monsters.

THE SECOND AGE: The Age of Empires and Monsters

This is the Age that gives rise to one of the greatest empires the world has ever seen and the monsters produced from the second War of Magic that ended the First Age.  After the great purge of magic users from Annmar, the great war produced mythical creatures known as Monsters.  They coexisted with the various races and the Anntheian Empire that ruled Annmar. New races are introduced in Annmar.  The world will also quadruple in size as the Anntheian Empire extends its control over the known world.  This Age will see the ongoing war to combat the monsters who wreak havoc over Annmar and the greatest empire start to crumble from within. This will also be the Age of rebellion.

THE THIRD AGE: The Age of Men, Monsters, and Magic

This is the Age where old empires will crumble and Annmar will revert back to small kingdoms.  Magic will come back into the world of Annmar stronger than ever.  A new generation of magic users will rise up and help balance the world with monsters and now dragons.  Annmar will be very different without the Anntheian Empire in control, but it is very much the same. New tyrants will rise up and try to control Annmar.  New wars will be fought.  In Addition, an ancient evil will return stronger than ever to try a enslave the many races and magic users of Annmar, which will lead to another great war. However, this will be the Age where men, magic, and monsters find harmony with one another.
